Eco-Schools

Eco Committee at Currie

The Eco Committee, alongside Mrs Graham, work very hard to maintain our school’s Green Flag status. We meet twice a month to carry out various responsibilities including sorting recycling for the whole school, maintaining and managing the school garden including pond and kitchen garden and running whole school events such as Waste Week. The whole school takes part in lots of activities such as The Big Bird Watch and Forest Schools.

The Eco Committee also enjoys working with their friends from Holy Family Primary, taking part in the Big Spring Clean in the local area and going on trips to places like the Balmoral Show. In 2018 they achieved their second Green Flag after lots of hard work.

P3 Caterpillar Project

P3 looked after caterpillars which ate and ate. Then they turned into a chrysalis and after about a week they came out as beautiful Painted Lady Butterflies!! We gave them some nectar for a couple of days then we set them free in our school garden!
